The Melissa Witt Case
For years, the case of Melissa Witt has remained one of the most haunting and unresolved murders in Arkansas. For me, it has never been just a case—it has been a commitment.

My work on Melissa’s story began through documentary development, but what started as a project quickly became something much deeper. Over time, as I reviewed records, spoke with individuals connected to the case, and followed the evolving landscape of the investigation, I found myself drawn not only to the unanswered questions, but to Melissa herself—who she was, what was taken from her, and the decades her family has lived without resolution.

This work has spanned years of my life.
It has taken the form of long-form research, interviews, field work, writing, and the ongoing development of both books and a documentary centered on Melissa’s story. Each step has been approached with care, recognizing the responsibility that comes with telling the story of a victim whose case remains unsolved. The goal has never been to sensationalize, but to document, to preserve, and to contribute meaningfully to the continued awareness of her case.
Like many long-term investigations, the process has not been linear. It has moved through different law enforcement leadership, shifting priorities, and periods of both momentum and silence. Through it all, my commitment has remained the same: to ensure that Melissa Witt is not forgotten and that her case continues to be part of the public conversation.
This is not work that exists in isolation. It is part of a larger effort to advocate for unsolved cases, to support families still seeking answers, and to push for continued attention where it is still needed.

Melissa’s story is not over. And neither is the work.
